Wokeness Does Not Equal Strength
Are we sending the wrong message to our nation’s enemies by coming out with these soft, Woke commercials about joining our U.S. military? Of course we are! Need a proof comparison? Watch these 2 videos and decide which you’d rather be a defender/fighter for?
This latest U.S. Army ad is disgusting. The purpose of a military is to kill people and break things, not necessarily in that order. It is also to defend your nation against people who want to do the same. It is NOT a poli-justice organization out to virtue signal to the rest of the world. Being overly soft and overly “caring” just makes you a target. Anyone who has dealt with bullies growing up should remember this.
We are living at a very dangerous time in our nation’s history. First, we ‘ended up’ with a president that fumbles his words so much he barely makes any sense. Secondly, we show enormous weakness by having one of our major oil arteries hacked by a bunch of hackers. Add to that the Biden Admin saying “Hey, not our problem…but whatever you want to do. Colonial Oil.’ Then we hear that the hackers were paid off!! Giving into a bully only guarantees that they will be back, once they know you’ll roll over and give up the cash, ALWAYS.
The U.S. military is NOT the Peace Corps, it is NOT a church mission trip, it is NOT a political march. Recruiting people to become soldiers thinking it is a social justice march is just making easy targets for the enemy. The enemy is not training for a social justice war, so why are we recruiting for one?
There was one guy in my Basic Training platoon who simply did not have the mental fortitude for military training, and certainly not for combat which is where nearly all training leads. Some people have it, and some do not. Lowering the bar to allow that social justice warrior in the military because “its their calling” just makes for battlefield fodder, because the enemy most definitely will not lower their bar just because you had two moms. In that moment of combat the only thing that matters is can you do your job, and nothing like race, religion, LBGT-whatever freaking matters. None of it. Recruiting for anything less is a huge disservice to those who put on the uniform or anyone who has to serve with such a liability. Placing ill-equipped people in situations beyond their ability or preparation is a formula for failure, and in this latest geo-political environment it is not a failure we can afford.
